So just got to plug into my new Univalve for the first time, ill save judgement til tomorrow when I can get to my rehersal space and cab!

In the mean time I was hoping I could spent some time today doing silent recording from the Uni's line out, using my PODxt Pro as a speaker sim. I have it hooked up like this:

Guitar -> Uni -> Uni Line Out -> PODxt Pro Line In.

I have setup the POD to be accepting line level input, but this kills off the options for cab sims. I cant work out how to do this. Anyone done this before? Is there a setting somewhere I cant find?

try this

Guitar -> Uni -> Uni Line Out -> PODxt Pro "FX return"

this way bypasses the preamp but the cabs & effects still work (if I remember correctly)

you may have to "dummy plug" the pod's input and/or FX send jacks to activate the fx loop.

It does work - I've used this method in the past with other preamps !

NOTE: you might want to monitor that output of the UNIvavle as it may be too strong - overloading the pod's FX return and may need to be attenuated a bit ( I use a small behringer mixer to pad down "hot" signals when needed. its cheap & easy solution)

Cheers
