Well, I just finally got the chance to really crank up my M4 for the first time all week and my power amp blew a fuse after about 20-25 minutes.
It's a Mesa 50/50. I have everything hooked in properly and I bought the power amp used last weekend from a local, private seller. I think the power tubes are still intact, but there was the "burn" smell emanating from the amp as well.
The 50/50 began having an underlying crackling/swooshing sound earlier this week (which I verified was not the M4) and continued until it died today, but before I just brushed it off as maybe being a bad 12AX7 inside the 50/50 and disregarded it.
The last time I had anything similar to this, it was on a 5150 that fried the motherboard about 10 years ago.
Any knowledgeable guys in here that could give me an inkling of what the problem could be? I'm hoping it's just a tube problem!
Thanks~
