Powering Amp from a power conditioner?

Does anyone power their amp from a power conditioner?

I have just bought a Samson powerbrite pro which is used for powering rack units. But on the front it also has an unswitched socket for accepting the likes of an amplifier.

Does anyone power their amp this way, or just plug it into the mains?
 
I am planning on buying a Furman and was going to power my Diezel with it aswell, I presume it's safe? :confused:
 
I have been using power conditioners for years now. Not only does it work great it also is safe, safer than without since the conditioner filters peaks and has a fuse that will blow if there's to much power coming from somewhere. I know of a guys how used a very cheap power conditioner, plugged some very cheap devices in and went to a place were they simulate flashes. The flash fried the power condition but none of the attached devices were damaged.

I use old PowerBrite to power my amps + other rack crap. I have not ever calculated the total load, but there is 2x amp heads (VH4 and Mako), 12U of rack and a pedalboard. Not a single problem ever.

I really wonder why do they recommend using the unswitched socket for amps? :confused:

I think you should remove this topic, because it seems that you have made a duplicate from it.
 
I´m playing my Herbert/VH4 with a Furman PL-PRO DMC E and it works great. I´m up to Jaymz82 about savety. It´s a really good protection for high grade gear!
 
Don't plug it in the front. Plug it into one of the rear outlets. These are the transformer isolated outlet keeping all the nasty ground hum away. I use a Furman Pro.

I'll also add this question:

is it safe to turn the power on or off directly from the power conditioner, just leaving the amp's power switch on all the time?

I've been using my power conditioner as a 'master switch' for sometime now and I haven't had any problems, but I don't want to wait for any problems to arise before I stop doing it so please let me know if it is bad practice...
 
well I think the best way is to switch every part after another. It doesn´t takes that much time. But that only my opinion. That´s my sequence:

- Furman
- Herbert
- Decimator
- Xpression
- DTR 1000

But on the other side, I don´t think it will hurt the amp if you use the furman as a master-switch, if the herbert is on standby.
