Pre-amp tubes in Tweaker 15 combo

Has anyone put JJ ECC83 tubes in the pre-amp stage of a Tweaker 15 combo. I did and got the desired, more distortion at a lower volume. However, I lost high end. Any suggestions for a better tube? Also, has anyone tried GT6L6 in the power section?

I replaced the stock tube to a Tung-Sol in V1 that opened up the tone range a bit. The Tung-Sol is suppose to be a good tube to brighten up a relatively dark amp. Where as the JJ tends to be "darker" on the top end. Great tube though. You might want to try a JJ 803, less gain but richer mids than the 83s.
