Hey I am putting in an order thru their site and need to get new preamp tubes and was wondering if someone could shine some wisdom down on me. I dont think preamp tubes have to be paired, am I right? Also I was wondering what a good combo of tubes would work? I was thinking about getting a full set of Ruby ECC83's and maybe a few Tungsols to play around with. Any recommendations would be nice, the only deal is that I'm burning up a gift card so i gotta get it from that store. I like playing darker riffs but also appreciate clarity in my amp if this helps. Thanks.

preamp tubes do not need to be paired i would go with the ruby's myself love the sound from them

I would call Magic Parts / Ruby Tubes to get the stock tubes

Youre not kidding!!! I had been on the hunt for a herbie for 9 months in state when I gave up and bought one thru here. I went to Mammoth 2 weeks ago to inquire about tubes and they didnt even have any 12AX7's available. I just hope that is the real problem with my head because if not, I dont even wanna try and think about finding a good repair tech in this state.
