Are these things doing anything special that other OD's can't? I'm guessing those pedal prices are in part to pay the people who say yes to a signature pedal because a Phil X overdrive in Canada is 430$ CAD and 349$ USD on Sweet water. These guys just riding off the names and reputation now or what?

If you guys knew how close just about every OD was to the next .... you'd buy 3 or 4 ..... and never buy another one again

JHS pretty much showed everyone that with all those combo pedals they did so you are bang on.. i think we just like shiny stuff.. I am becoming a fan of multi use pedals. Like that Zion pedal with diff boosts and some tone shaping options. That makes it worth it at least.

Funny I was looking at the phil x pedal sunday night. I have the Friedman JEL amps and love the plexi ch.
I would like to have either a layered boost to take it into solo territory because ch 2 has this weird low end freq and is such a different tone.
More prominent on the 20w than the 50
The fix for me is go into my FM3 which I use for pre/post effects and run a different drive with more gain/level.

As for the pricing agreed they are way too much, but with an artist in the picture he has to get some sort of cut right?

They have some nice sounding pedals and are quality/stout IME. They are expensive now like everything else. $350 is the new $299. $229 is the new $199. My beef is that they made them smaller, and eliminated the battery option in their newer units, and charged more all in a short span. I am a fan of the original enclosures, they are a brick. I have a Blue Note, an Alien Echo, and used to have the Josh Smith Dual Trem. All really sweet pedals; They still have a lot of great sounding demos on the new enclosure series and guys seem to love their Archer whatever klon knockoff. The Hot Rubber Monkey sounds pretty killer in the demos. I'm waiting patiently on something different though these days. Have fun shopping.

there's some unique stuff out there ..... you just have to wade through a lot of stuff to find it

TBH, I find some of the pedals from @griff10672 to be so good and versatile, I have stopped looking at other makers for my OD/Distorion/Boost needs. My legit OCD sounds just like the original variant/version that was released, the others are off, to the point where I sold them. If this confuses you, they made all sorts of versions of the OCD pedal 1.1 1.2, etc. Mine is when he did a super short run of them before all of the changes to the company and the move. Now Griffin Analog is talking about possibly making an OCD variant and I can almost guarantee that it will replace the actual OCD on my board.

Not only is a variant ...... it has dip switches inside to switch it to the varied releases .....there may be a few other surprises as well ..... should have the proto built within a week or two

Hyped to get my wife mad at me about this! Lol that really is amazing.

I had pretty severe OCD in my childhood and was able to be freed around 18-19. If you could somehow work a 'Monk' reference.... I can't think of another OCD character that was really likeable and funny.

Nice! I am glad I brought up OCD in that previous thread. I'll bring up any other pedals I think are in your realm for sure. Super cool.
