The only difference is the Moderns that are custom are custom...meaning you can get anything you want on them...different finishes, etc. The biggest difference in the Pro Series Modersn is that they are set to 4 different models (w/ a floyd or a 2 point trem, and w/ either a maple or pao ferro fingerboard). The finishes are their "soft touch" finish which is not a gloss finish. The time in buffing and making a gloss finish perfect is the difference in cost here. It's all labor differences of paint finishing work. They use the same wood, same Suhr pickups, same hardware, etc. No difference in feel or performance. I own a PS M1 Modern and it's amazing. The floyd is what I am not digging, which is why I'm selling it. But, that's why I ordered another Suhr w/o a floyd. Suhrs are amazing guitars!

Thanks Eric; what exactly aren't you digging on the Floyd? My past experience with a floyd was on a Jackson Soloist Custom, the overall feel of the guitar was great but I'm a palm muting kinda guy and was always stuggling at keeping it in tune while playing. I'm hoping the recessed trem would work out better with my style of playing. Thoughts?
