When I turn my MOD50 on and I don't have the footswitch connected, sometimes it automatically goes to channel A of the first module slot and sometimes it doesn't do anything and I have to press the channel button for it to go to channel A of the first module slot. Does anyone else have this problem? Is this serious? Thanks!

Does it for me sometimes too. But after I select something, it always works fine for me :)

My MOD50 also does this sometimes... :)

Ditto, talked to Bruce about awhile back and he said it wasnt a problem. As long as the channels behave normally when you footswitch them its fine.

For mine, when I turn it on standby it goes to module 1, channel A. If i change the channel to say module 2, channel A, when I go from standby to ON it goes back to module 1, channel A. Some strange quirks for sure. No biggie though.

Damn, with all the problems he has had,he should just send it to me :D and I'll fix it for him

Matt, my MOD50 was doing the same thing a year ago or so.
From what i remember, Bruce said that , this issue doesn't damage the amp in any way
and didn't have anything thing to do with the tone circuitry, safety etc...

I believe the problem was in the midi board if i remember right.

The fix was to replace a chip on the board. There was no soldering involved. Just pull
one chip out and put the other in.

I don't really recall any of mine doing that but everytime I hit the STDBY it was always on module 1 channel A

Mine does that sometimes too. It switches channels perfectly with the selector on the amp though. Where I have problems is with the footswitch itself. Most of the time when I turn my amp on the footswitch does not communicate with the amp. After 2 or 3 times of turning on the amp it will usually start working. Anybody else had this happen? Jeff and I are presently trying to work it out. Otherwise, I love this thing and going over to the amp to change channels is a small price to pay for the great tone. SL, VX, T/D all great!
