Problems with Reverb Pedal in the Parallel Loop of a Mod 50

I have recently acquired a Mod 50 with the dlx and SL2 mods and I am very impressed with the head. Still tweaking away and finding more tones, many excellent ones in there - as everyone has said, the SL2 B channel is totally awesome.

The head does not have reverb, and I like some on the cleaner stuff. Rather than having a pan installed, I purchased a Verbzilla, the Line 6 pedal, which is an excellent pedal for the price (under $100 used) - very authentic reverb and lots of choices. I have been running it through the parallel loop of the Mod 50, and overall it works great, but I'm experiencing minor sporadic sound volume surges and drops, and little noises/clicks, that probably a casual listener wouldn't even notice, but I can. It's clearly the reverb pedal/loop, without the pedal plugged in there's no such issue. It's not something weird with the electricity or power supply, the same thing happens when using a battery in the pedal or using different plugs around the house.

Anyone have any ideas why this may be occurring? I really do like the pedal and the variety of reverb styles you can get, but the surges/drops/noises are damn annoying. I remember hearing (I didn't get a manual when I bought it) that it doesn't like pedals in the parallel loop, that you need rack type effects. Could this be the issue? I'd hate to buy another effect gadget and have the same issues. I am fortunately right near the shop in Michigan - maybe just getting it installed might be the easiest thing, okay, enough rambling........thanks in advance.

Bring the pedal by the shop and we can look into it also!
