Hey guys, I'm having an issue with my low E tuner on my Custom 22. The shaft that the string goes through isnt attached properly any more, it just pops out. If I get it just in the right place the tension of the string keeps it held in when restringing but it's definitely time to replace. I'm not sure what I should be looking for exactly, I don't know if it's a phase I or 2, doubt it's a 3 because of its age. I think mine are the ebony tuners so if I could keep that and put it on the new tuner that'd be great.

Any ideas what direct replacement I can use? Thanks!

Those look like winged tuners that someone's converted to vintage style shafts, which might be why they're falling apart.

If that guitar's a 2001 it should have winged tuners (Phase I) on it. There's two versions that I know of, the originals have a shared D and G screw hole and the 2nd version doesn't. I'm not enough of a nerd to know if any specs changed or if it was just the screw mounting location, but if you ask on the PRS forum someone will probably know.

I seen the before on CU22 Stop tails. Probably just std schallers

Weird. Looks like the tuners they put on the SE models. Never seen a PRS Custom without locking tuners.

Here’s another 2001 22 Stop-tail. Schaller M6s should drop right in. If you look close at the top picture you’ll see what I mean.
