Today I got a message from Sweetwater saying that the MT-100 is going to be discontinued. My question is I wonder if PRS is going to come out with version two of this amp. I was surprised to hear that.

Edit: Sweetwater called today and said it was a mistake on there end and that it's not being discontinued.

Like 1:30 in to when they play.
But you can hear the prs mt100.

And it sounds good in a way, but it also doesn't. The one palm section with the heavy picking sounds good. Tremonti is a tone freak so, you know. I've read alot about these amps being kinda "meh" though and it seems like most people had such high expectations because it took 9 years to be released... and I think that was a real bad marketing move.

It doesn't seem to have stuck as good with alot of people. I definitely wanted to try one because I am a big fan of the Archon 100. But I'm not feeling like I'd prefer what the Mt100 is doing comparatively.

They will now be collectors items like that horribly built randall satan became after dude got famous on YouTube.

Watch tremonti start touring with the old amps again 🤣🤣

Some more mt100 live...

Definitely sounds better in this clip from a live standpoint which is def important..

.

Mark did exactly what he wanted to do, created an amp to his taste and unfortunately it just didn't appeal to alot of people. That's the danger of signature gear although if true, surprised PRS didn't give the amp a little more life though.

Edit: well back that car up

That's exactly what I was going to say it must not have sold very good.
The problem is the ones they did sell, many had issues and were returned. I respect Mark for wanting to keep it cheap so it's affordable to more people but that ultimately came at a cost. The quality just wasn't there in the end.

PRS already revolutionized the guitar world with the les paul double cut and silver sky strat, why doesn't he just make a Twin Reverb or Bassman copy or something like that? Paul is a genius for new and innovative guitar designs but somehow has the brain freeze on amps.

It's a pretty good amp...probably didn't sell. I'm not certain Mark is a big enough name these days to impact the the sell-through on a signature product.

Got a phone call back from Sweetwater and they said it was a mix up and that this amp was not discontinued and was a mistake on there end.

I've owned a lot of different amps and got to play some some high end ones and this one in my opinion has something different going in the red channel, rips hard, has a great feel and the clean sounds amazing. The only down fall is the orange channel as it's really not for me. Famous last words, it's an amp I will never sell unless v2 comes out.

I didn’t think PRS would put that kind of effort into an amp then discontinue it that quick, especially with Creed touring now again. That would be admitting the thing was a total pos lol. I want to play one, I’ve liked the clips I’ve heard

Agree...I think this amp sounds really good...Even that boxy, mid-heavy 2nd channel has something appealing about to me.
