Dare I say... Les Paul killer?
You decide.
Either way. I had an R9... and I decided to keep this one at the time. Such an amazing singlecut guitar. First owner and only owner. This thing sports the nicest flametop in my collection. Super deep, super 3d, and the curl is incredible in person and in a real nice McCarty burst finish. Unlike a proper les paul, the only plastic on this thing are the pickup rings, knobs, and the switch tip.
Ebony overlay, ivory tuning pegs, ebony back covers, a crazy figured Brazilian rosewood fret board, curly maple binding, pretty mahogany for the neck and back... and proper MOP inlays. The mics on this bad boy are a pair of 57/08s that I absolutely love. This guitar sounds huge, and I've had other 57/08s... these ones just make me smile every time I plug it in. Special.
This is the hardest PRS I have to sell (still fighting it), and it's my last PRS that's going out. The looks are great, but this thing just sounds magical to me. Why I decided to sell now is just the weight. My bad back won't allow me to jam on Singlecut guitars for a long period of time and I don't want any more case queens. The weight on this is around 9lbs. Not bad for a thick singlecut LP type guitar.
It was spec'd to be a "PRS Les Paul" from 59. So there are light 'relic' elements going on. Little bits in the finish to make it not look so 'perfect' as PRS guitars usually do. I can take more pics of that by request. Hard to notice them until you stare up close and I am told the finish will age similar to an old Les Paul unlike the v12 finish. This thing is meant to be played!!
My loss is someone's gain. If you love Les Pauls, but you dig the PRS vibe and quality, you gotta give this Paul Reed Smith a try.
6,000 Dollars Shipped OBO!
Thinking about cash plus cash deal. Looking for interesting nice basses. That is all!
Thanks!
