PSA - your phone charges

Ever wonder why some chargers work better than others?

There is an App for that. Ampere. Download it and run it while charging your phone and will give charging health info. Once you throw away the bad ones, then use only your good ones for your phone or other devices that have USB charging. My quick study told me it comes down to mA (milliAmp) reading which somewhat correlates to the voltage listed on the charger itself, but also the actual quality of the unit. But - I've purchased some more expensive chargers over the years thinking they would give me better quality and better capacity. Not necessarily so. YMMV

App looks like this:

For me, my Samsung chargers worked best which actually makes sense. Some of these other ones either sucked, and in one case actually discharged my phone. That Stanley on the end was the one that made me do this exercise as it was touted as the best you can buy. :dunno:

I'm going to have to download this to check a few chargers. Though I suspect I have a couple of cables that are crapping out too.
That is the next logical step. I didn't want to get into it because a.) I didn't want to make it confusing and b.) it seemed kind of obvious to me.

But yeah, get a known good Charger and then swap your suspect cables through and toss the shitty cables.

Also - these types of batteries (lithium ion, nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, etc) will stay charged LESS if you are prone to plug it in to charge willy nilly. I purposely wait until my phone is almost dead and then charge it up all the way to 100%. The more you can do it that way the longer your battery should last. Generally. Although the technology has made leaps and bounds and this battery 'memory' thing is not as bad as it used to be.
