Whats the voicing and the gain like on channel 3? Does it get into modern metal i.e killswitch engage type gain or is it more like 80's metal van halen type stuff? I know this amp is super versatile when you factor in the feedback control and whomp and such but im wondering if its suitable for more contemporary metal

With the Whomp II switch and by adjusting the EQ, I'd say you can get pretty mean "modern" metal tones. Peter Joseph of the Absence can attest to that. The basis of the voicing is still the late-80's and early-90's hot-rodded British tone, but it can definitely do more.

Thanks Ed! I didnt know Peter Joseph had one, I'm a huge fan of the absence! If i can get the kinda tones with the pt100 that are on Riders of the Plague, I've found my next amp

Yeah, Peter loved it and used it a lot on the new album that the Absence is finishing up.

This is true!! I can vouch for the sheer awesomeness of this amp, there pretty much isn't a part of the new record where you WONT here it :D Almost all guitar tracks on this time around were tracked with the Suhr/PT100, and we go back in this week to finish up the guitar solos which will be all PT100 as well

Sweet! Thanks for the post! If you and Pete Thorn are both using this amp it must be kick ass!
