I'm excited to be getting mooncobra's PT100 the end of the week!

Mine just left the Suhr factory yesterday and will arrive in Singapore before me on the 18th....just in time for a gig on Fri 21st.

So I've got just over a week to decide whether I want to use the EBMM Axis and give it some serious whammy harmonics abuse OR the thick chunky goodness of my goldtop LP? leaning towards the Axis/whammy bar at the moment....very lucky to have a regular gig where guitar wankery is not only tolerated but encouraged!

Yea I have a huge show Sat night and one Fri too. Great fun!

Did you get your amp? How are you finding it?

Mine is sitting at home in the box getting plenty of attention from the kids...unfortunately I am working out of the country until Fri so the box stays sealed until then :(

I feel for ya! I had mine on hold for pick-up on Friday at FedEd. Went out there when they opened and turned out it was on the truck. Had to wait anoher 5 hrs to get it.

Blasted it a bit on Fri and it was jaw dropping. Killer cleans and brutal gain channels.
Brought it to the gig and tried it again on sound check. I couldn't dial out a high Mid freq and ended up using my Wizard.

The next night I said let me try the PT100 again, I did and it sounded awesome! Great amp.

I've been playing the amp all week and gigged it last Friday. (this Sat night too) and I'm loving the tone. It's got this huge bottom end (that gets lost in videos) w/ this great Marshall modded vibe on the top. The amp is very articulate and allows me to play tight muted alternate picked lines and smooth legato as well.

here are some current vids (all on Channel 2)... for what it's worth:

This one has less gain on Channel 2 (3 1/2) and I switch to channel 3 at the end.

Dude...great videos!

The hodrodded Marshall vibe sure comes across in them.

I got home from Thailand about an hour ago.....its after midnight...Amp is unboxed and sitting on a Recto cab but its going to have to wait to the morning to be fired up...about 8 hours and counting!

Great videos again......

Nice clips. I'm really digging my PT. gkinsingapore, FWIW, I ran mine through a Recto cab at first before switching over to a cab loaded with greenbacks- highly recommended! Completely different amp with a more vinatge sound. Enjoy!

I have some nice Greenback cabs and they should sound great w/ the PT100. But my Recto cab has 2 65's and sounds great too. Depends on the day I think.
I'm not getting sick of this amp. It's really articulate and great for palm muted lines.

We really gotta keep in touch...I sold mine about 3 weeks ago.

Yep. Awesome amp but....you know!

OMG that is too funny! It would be funnier if I actually owned your old amp!

At long fucking last......

Have spent the morning playing direct into amp but am about to start messing with efx.

First Impressions:

Built like a tank, even UPS couldnt destroy it..... The transformer is just about as heavy as the speaker cab!
Quiet...even with the gain dimed
Versatile....a lot more than I thought.....I could do an entire covers gig on channel 2 just using the volume knob.
All great clips on the web but none of them remotely come close to reproducing the sound...bottom end is huge.

At the moment I like the sound of the V30's in the recto so wont be changing (this week anyway).

So far only played with an EBMM Axis (it does a great job of Brown Sound EVH) and will keep it at that for tonight. Tomorrow will be my LP 57VOS...different gig, band and music.

The only thing I'm not happy with is it seems to be missing the 'make me a better player' knob......

Congradz! Loud too isn't it!? "2" is pushin' some air!

Well it seems loud in the house (2!? god 1.5 and everyone is running) but I know what will happen when all I can hear is cymbals tonight.....and this time the drummer wont win ;) (and I'm not in any way condoning a volume war between drummer and guitar player......)

Let me know how it works for ya. I had to redial in the clean on the spot, but it got cookin. The recto cabs are loud!

Pete

Thanks pete! You've got a great amp!
How do you set your amp btw?
I have the bright on; and Pres, Feedback and Womp all at the middle pos. Gain on 6 Channel 2

I have feedback on 3 or 4, pres on 4, whomp off, and gain on 6-7 on ch2... tones are all between 4-6 depending on the venue..
