Is it safe to remove one pair of power tubes from the 100W Einstein in order to cut the wattage down to 50?
I own a Bogner Uberschall and I'm able to do this.
Thanks for your help
Chris

Chris,

to pull 2 tubes for lower wattage is not a really big step,
but a big chance soundwise.

Peter,

So are you saying it won't hurt the amp, but you don't expect much of a difference?

One thing I have noticed making a large difference is switching to a smaller cab.
I bought a rare Diezel 2x15 cabinet on the used market. The Serial is P151216
The back has two inputs. One marked Side A/Mono, labeled at 16 ohms
The other input just says Side B.

I was hoping one input would feed just one speaker, but they both feed both speakers.
Are these meant for me to plug up to two amps into this cab?
Should both amps be set to 16 ohms?

Thanks!
Chris

I don´t would pull two tubes because the result
of lower volume is not this big, but the amp will
get a darker and less responsive tone. The output
transformer is designed for 4 tubes.

I don´t know about the 2 by 15 inch speaker
cabinet. It was designed by our former distributor
Uwe Salwender. The best way to find out the
impedance is to measure it with a multimeter.
