The Orange Crush head was delivered today. Sounds just as awesome as the Purple Prototype and a hell of lot better looking! Might get around to some chest pounding clips later today. Cabs should be rolling in sooner or later.

I'm not a fan of colored head shells, but I really like these. The color adds some more character.

I'm normally not either. But yeah, it looks pretty cool on these.

So which one sounds better?

The orange right now because its got my lone quad of SED's in it. Waiting on more stock.....those Tesla tubes just don't let the amp open up on top, the way JJ's do. But, they do sound about the same on similar settings. I did a gut check and looks like all the board component/caps are the same. There's a few different pots on them though. I think they will be close enough not to notice any difference. They both geaux biggggggggggg............

That's the cool thing about having two...you can put in different tubes, etc to get different sounds.

FWIW, I thought the new Tung-sol EL34's sounded killer as well...plus the price on them is under $100.

I will just stick with the SED's. They are dependable and predictable. $50 more and I am happy. Besides, there are more than enough settings on the amp to change it up. Hell, I think you could have a half-dozen tubed identical and get 12 different tones.

Spent all day today on channel 1. I had let a friend borrow a cab. He came and got it while I was out. I told him, don't take the Bogner's that have no white piping on the grill. These have my well broken-in Scumbacks in them. Which one did he take? Just got it back and had to start all over again....

Fuck......there is a recurring theme starting to form here. Ever since the arrival of the Cameron amp, security personnel on the compound have visited my house 3 times with complaints from neighbors - and just today, they heard me when doing a drive by. There's just no solution for holding back the brutality and onslaught of these amps. And, I was just noodling around, getting a pedal board wired up for the weekend and making sure everything is working like it should.

So, I either need to:

1) Add more sound-proofing
2) Turn down
3) Move
4) Kill Em All
