Just got it, pretty sweet! The band plays both Mindcrime records in full with theatrics/video and all. Pretty cool stuff if your into the Mindcrime story.

Mike Stone's playing is quite good on this DVD. He's playing a ESP DV8, and it looks like he's playing through a B-52! Sounds pretty good though, so who knows. You can just barely see the amp from offstage.

Man, Tate is such a great singer. He just never loses it. Sounds just like he did 15 years ago!

If Tate's got it, then he got it back because the last 3 times I've seen them I've been seriously let down. This isn't to dog Tate either because he's older and the vocal chords weaken with age like any other muscle (for most people), but he wasn't hitting the notes, when he tried, he wasn't holding them, and he's changed the vocal melodies all around to suit his current vocal state. Put on top of this that the entire band seems to only be going through the motions (they look bored), it's pretty bad.

Oh, and while I've not been a big fan of the guitar tones in QR for a while, the last time I saw them the guitar tones were so poor that I almost left. They were thin, harsh, grainy, pure suck.

Your definatly right, they went through a bad phaze (Q2K-era), but there definatly doing a lot better now. Mindcrime II is their best record since Empire.Tate is singing quite well again, and the band as a whole seems to be doing better. Mike is still kinda boring (just stands around), but he's playing well, so I'd say that makes up for it. Grab this DVD, I'm really curious as to what your oppinoin of it would be.

Maybe I'll see if I can rent it, but I first want to know if the vocals were overdubbed. If it's that good, I would wager that they are.

Yes, other than the horrific guitar tones, poor singing, uninspired performance, weak guitar soloing and overall lousy live sound, they kicked ass.

For the last song (Jet City Woman), Mike is playing one of those ESP Lynch Super V's. There not nearly as ugly as I thought they were! Still ugly, but better than before. Haha.

Download it, son. You got a torrent program of any sort? I know you were talking about putting your album out on torrents.

I can send you a torrent of both disks if you want.

That's alright, son. You'll learn when your older.

I just started watching Disk 1 (Operation: Mindcrime I) and I'm definatly not digging the stupid fucking slams at Bush and America throughout it. I've only just started, so I'm not sure if it's a recurring theme or not. I'm hoping not. I'm not a fan of bands sharing their political oppinon with us,especailly with signs that say "Someone give Bush a blowjob so we can Impeach him." Even worse, when they do this during a Concept Record written in 1988.

I saw this show at the Nokia in NYC , live it was great , I thought Tate was really good the band played well and the chick singer was superb , Im not crazy about Mind Crime II , I think Mind Crime I ,was their apex after that I stopped listening to them ,
And I agree they should keep their politics to themselves unless they grant me equal access to espouse my views on their stage they should play and leave the politics to themselves.

That was real funny. The Moore is one of the best sounding rooms I ever heared and I have seen shows all over US. I was able play there a few times. Who ever mixed us at the board the last time did not understand moniter mix. It sounded horrible on stage. My freinds said it sounded good out front.
