Hey guys,

I have the VH4S I bought and I was using G-Major through the parallel loop. Now it was working fine and was getting FX etc. But more and more I kept feeling like I was losing tone. So I unplugged it all and just went straight into VH4S and the overdrive sounds tons better. I mean amazingly better. Roared :) Any I am a home player and do not really need any FX but I like the chorus effect on my clean channel to get the JC-120 tone.

No I have a Boss Super Chorus and Chorus Ensemble. I tried both using the Send to insert and 2 out puts to the 2 outputs in the parallel loop and I also tried the pedals mono just in the channel inserts.

My problem is when I have the plugged in regardless I barely get the chorus effect. You slightly hear it but barley. When I had a VH4 I had the chorus in the channel insert and it was dramatic. So my question, is maybe the FX loop is broken? Or is there a setting I need to set the diezel to activate or recognize the FX parallel loop or the channel insert for channel 1? I have the chorus out put level set to 100% and the FX loop knobs on the front of the Diezel set to 100% and still the chorus effect is barley even there. I am confused by the whole omni mode/ single channel mode selection etc. And I think that might be my problem. I don’t want to put the pedal in front of the amp as I want my GC to control channel one when I want clean plus chorus. I even tried placing it in front of the amp and still, same issue.

So my over all goal now is just to keep me raw VH4S tone for dirties channels 2, 3, and 4, and have the deep chorus effect on channel one.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

You should use the serial loop or the channel insert

Hi Peter.

I tried the channel insert and it still sounded weak. I dont want to use the serial loop as then the chrous effect would affect my awesome dirty tone. I even tried it in front of the amp and still sounded weak. Some suggested I may have a broken preamp tube in the FX loop? Thanks Peter!

Hi there! I have used the G-force only for delays and had it in the parallel loop with good results. Before that, I used a half rack space Boss VF-1 the same way and that worked even better ( I liked the feel/responce better..) than the G-force. Shame, I swapped this one actually for the G-force  In fact I sold the G-force being too much for my simple needs and are still shopping as I can not make a good decision.
I am not sure why to use the serial loop over the parallel loop; in the parallel loop you can blend the effect easily by dialling the MIX knob on your amp. It proved very handy at some situations when my original effect setting prepared at home was too much in a live situation. At the moment I use a Yamaha UDstomp pedal placed on the amp and in the same parallel loop - sounds great. This pedal however is still too complicated for me - I like to dial in a nice delay and keep to that! Maybe buy another delay like the G-sharp and have some extra effects apart from the delay- or add a deeeeper delay... (finally, maybe the use of the serial loop enables to fully use effects available in the G-force which are not available when used in the P-loop?

yeah dont want to use the serial loop, because then I have no way of turing it on or off, and I like to blend it in. I have it now set up correct I think, but I leave channel 3 with no G major on and just the raw deizel tone. Fucking roars!

what Pete? Does it not make sens to use the parallel loop as opposed to the serial loop so you have control over the belend of tone?
