Could an E2 be sent to the poweramp of something like a renegade without involving the preamp of the renegade in order to allow the use of effects that need to be run through a loop? So like could i use an E2 and something like a renegade the way people use an m4 and poweramp and just put the effects between the E2 and poweramp? I hope im making sense i guess im just asking whether or not it'll be possible to use time based effects with the E2

This is something I had wondered about as well. My guess is no, unless the amp has a "power amp in" that is separate from the effects loop? I bet it doesn't. I was wondering how the E2 would work with effects also. Maybe it has its own effects loop that can be used independent of the modules?

I'm assuming I have understood your question properly?

I think it would be the same concept as using the M4; the effects would go in between the pre and the poweramp section. Of course that would force you to run your effects in serial but if you were using it with a MOD50, you’d still have the parallel loop as that comes after the serial.

OK, but I think on a Renegade or Tourmaster you lose your effects loop, unless you run it all in one loop with the E2, or if the E2 has its own loop. It's unclear to me me as well how thing goes in the signal chain and how it works with effects. I wish they would release more info about it.

Signal chain for ANY amp that has a true series effects loop...if you want to use effects...and your amp's preamp..will be:

Guitar -> Pedals (wahs, any pre-preamp pedals) -> E2 Guitar input -> E2 Preamp Send -> ANY HEAD Input ->ANY HEAD Series Effects loop Send -> E2 Preamp Return -> E2 Output -> POST PREAMP Effects (rack processors, any pedal that can do line level) Input -> POST PREAMP effects output -> ANY HEAD Series Effects Loop Return -> Speaker out to speaker.

So.. The E2 has a switcher that will either bypass the Head's preamp if you want to use the E2's modules or vice versa. Make sense?

Got it- So my Eventides set at line level would get a signal from the E2's output, and the output from the effects would go into the Tourmaster's effects return.

Thanks!
