Question About Torpedo Cab Power Amps

Hi All,

Lovin my new Torpedo Cab. (using it with an Eleven Rack) I do however have some questions about the parameters with the Power Amp.

Volume - Is this like the Master Volume on an amplifier? By turning it all the way up will I get some power amp distortion?

Presence - This one really confuses me, as it doesn't seem to act like an amplifier Presence control. The higher I turn it up, the less presence I have (at least in the classical amp presence control kinda way)

Depth - Is this like a tone control or a mixing control. I was thinking maybe 100% means all the signal is going through the power amp.

Any help to get me into the correct mindset when using these controls would be awesome!

Volume - Yes

Presence - Just keep it at 90-100%.

Depth - It controls how much bass you want. I keep it at around 50%

Yes, and I find I like it between 18 and 24 for vintage mid-gain stuff, maybe 8 - 15 for clean or higher preamp gained stuff.

Yes, me too, though I start with it up around 90 - 95 and work from there.

Depth adds low end as it's turned up, use to suit.

Don't forget the input level to the CAB is critical as well, so be mindful of it and always optimize it or it'll effect the above settings etc.

I've found the power amp controls don't quite react the way I expect them to. Almost the opposite of the way I expect them to, yet different.

Even the volume? ^^

We made the choice of a presence parameter that acts more like a loudness, but some amplifiers happen to work like that.

The dynamics is huge in the C.A.B. so, your input volume is VERY important. Try to stay close to clipping, but don't clip, and you'll get the best tone. ;)
