Hey Andy I see you've got a G-system as part of your rig..And by chance my setup is identical to yours..Heres the problem...I am getting alot of noise from my g-system...got the Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator,got the balanced cables,set up the 4 cable system,bla bla bla......Heres the question....did you have this problem when you set yours up and if so what did you do to correct it?? was there anything you set in the global settings???
Im currently running it in series on Herbie,wanted to try parallel but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to noisey for that stuff..its making me set my Decimator Pro much higher than I want to and its crushing the crap out of herbie :doh:
Thanks for any advice..peace Have a great Holiday!!

hmmm. i too have decimator in my rig, BUT no ebtech. i had some help from a killer rig builder named Brad Bohannon. we ended up lifting the ground on one end of each cable that went to a "new" piece of gear in the signal chain. for what its worth my decimator settings stay REALLY close to noon on each channel, ALSO i have the decimator that has the ground lifts for each "loop" on it, savvy? Oh and all i use is series, Papa Diezel made an amp with THE BEST series loop out there, why even f#%^ with parallel?? just my redneck 2 cents though

let me know how i can help, if need be i can place you directly in touch with my rig guy who is currently designing my new 2 herbert axe-fx MONSTER stereo Down From Up rig.... wait did i just go there!!! ;) :rock:

i will be keeping g system rig (most likely with an einstein) for my clinic and Amalgam stuff. for people who think the G is digital sounding well... i just dont get it, thing sounds bitchin to me. But its a pain in the arse to get her dialed in thats fo sho!!

i also have a g system but with vh4 and einstein... how exactly is your wiring? you should get it quiet with the ebtech...

Funny I had a similar problem and just recently ran into a solution that worked for me. Connect the Ebtech hum eliminator only to the channel 1 output from the Decimator. Don't use it at all before the Decimator. In my setup channel 1 of the Decimator was connected like this.

Guitar --> Decimator ch1 In --> Decimator ch1 Out --> Amp

Not sure where the front end of your G-System is. But the solution for me was to do this.

Guitar --> Decimator ch1 In --> Decimator ch1 Out --> Ebtech Hum eliminator --> Amp

This killed all the noise I was getting. Strangely the noise was made worse by the Decimator being there. But by adding the Ebtech at that point it eliminated the extra noise I had with the Decimator in, and then the Decimator cleans up all the other noise that exists.

Not sure where your G-System is in relation to ch1 of the Decimator, but I'd recommend only using 1 channel of the Ebtech and only on the output end of ch1 of the Decimator. If I use the Ebtech on the input side of the ch1 of the Decimator it's very noisy.

Thanks guys for the fast response and great advice....I had a few issues that i resolved,one was with the ebtech and where it was in the chain with my Decimator and the other was my input volume on the G-system was at +8 db...which was waaaaaay too high,knocked it down to +4 and she's nice and quiet now.......Thanks again Guys and have a great Holiday....Good luck with the new stereo rig Andy bet its gonna kick azz!!!

hi andy!
interesting the axe with 2 herbies...i tried one axe ultra but i felt that was too sterile...i dont know if i did something wrong, but even my p.a. tech felt the same...i used only as a fx unit. what do you think? i made anything wrong? resume...was more hifi than my tc dtwo...but i love the axe effects.... :confused:
