What's the difference between the nickel plate Chinese 12AX7's, and the gray plate Chinese 12AX7's.

The nickel plate tubes have a bit less output and sound
more thin and midrangy. Some people like that.

Yeah, I sure do like it with that JJ you put in v-1, still sounding nice 
. Oh yeah, those last EL34B's I got are still going strong, so I think I must have just been unlucky with them those other times. Keep on rocking, thanks again.

P.S. One more question if you see this, is there a standard style handle that should be on the Herbert, because all of the ones I see are Marshall style and mines a Fender style handle, the Marshall one seems to be more sturdy to me, did I get the wrong handle? Cosmetically it looks good both ways to me, so its not a major point of concern to me, just curious.
