Why have I seen the Schmidt in so many different presentations? Are some of them prototypes? Which is the official standard Schmidt? Even the official Diezel website uses two very different presentations.

-I've seen it with a little silver Diezel badge.
-I've seen it in white tolex with a black Diezel badge.
-I've seen it with the large Diezel logo that is commonly placed on Diezel cabinets and big amplifiers. (which is my favorite)
-I've seen it completely black with a small Diezel badge not placed in the middle.

Final question:

How much did you guys payed (in US dollars) for your brand new Schmidt?

Thank you :)

There were some protos (black faceplate, script font), then few early models (silver face, script font) and the current production has again a black faceplate and a more modern font.

Mine looks just like the one above, but the Diezel nameplate is in the centre, not offset......were there many done like mine??
It'd be easy enough to move except for the small holes in the grille cloth, so I'll leave mine where it is.

This one probably is the last silverface-schmidt - and I really like it with the matching logo (which was a surprise by the way...)

Thanks for your informative reply duesentrieb!

In my opinion, the black faceplate with the modern font looks way better than the previous models I've seen on the Internet. I never liked the cursive font that much because it doesn't match the whole "vibe" that Diezel products offer.

The big matching Diezel logo would also look great with the current production, but the small Diezel logo makes the Schmidt look "classy" which I guess is what the company wants to portray in this distinctive model.

Hi Octavia!

The first production Schmidt had a silver front and a diezel logo inthe midddle.

The second production Schmidt had a black front and a diezel logo on the left side.

The third producton Schmidt has a black front and the diezel logo in the middle and velco stripes to open the wooden frontpannel.(so it is easier to remouve the chassis)

I have testet version 2 and three and find out that the third version was updated with more mids and more treble.

Now it works better in a band.

So long

Rolf is right - mine has the logo in the middle, all black, has the last update and was proclaimed as the latest and final version. Bought it in summer.

As you remember:

Perhaps mine is the last one...

I had the same idea with the matching logo, when I was a peters (stapfer) workshop. We did some pictures of it and mailed it to peter (diezel). He also liked it.
