Just bought this custom cab from Zilla cabs in the UK. It's a Super fat boy 2x12 cab, loaded with Celestion Creambacks, and they covered my Diezel Herberts headshell to match. Its blue snakeskin tolex! The pic doesn't really do it justice, looks even better in the flesh! When we get some sun I'll try to take some pics in natural light because the snakeskin is much nicer than it looks in this pic.
And it sounds awesome! I have been using either a 4x12 with V30/K100 mix, or another 2x12 with V30s, but this cab with the creambacks just blow them both away - sounds so warm and fat!

Awesome! I had the very same Idea as I checked the Tolex colors at TubeTown. I will go with another blue I guess. It's too nice to kill it's uniqueness :))

Cheers!

That's badass. They should offer colors like this as an upcharge. Really unique.

Well, I haven't gigged them yet, so I'll reserve final judgement until then ;) But just listening to them at home, I love them. I don't find them dark sounding, but they might be a bit darker than V30s. They are much smoother, warmer sounding than V30s though, and as I said earlier, I find there's a harshness to the high frequencies with V30s that these Creambacks don't have at all; the HF's seem much sweeter and smoother. I noticed this especially on the lower gain sounds. That warmness does mean that they've got a lovely low mid growl too.
I'll report more once I've gigged them :)

They already do! Just call or e-mail Peter Stapfer before order. There is a tiny upcharge depending on the Tolex you want. It also puts you back a week or two but that's it.

Cheers!

I have the same cab and put Creambacks in it a few weeks ago. LOVE them.

Congrats on the sweet setup.

Nah, these higher end amp companies should be a little more flexible and accommodating to a customer whose paying an arm and a leg for their product at a more reasonable charge. Vinyl isnt expensive, doesnt require a unique skill set and isnt anymore work to tolex a new amp in black bronco or white taurus. They make it seem like their moving earth to do this. Besides not like they have to buy thousands of yards at a time.

@ OP amp looks good as hell

I agree. I work for a John Deere sub contracted company that does interior upholstery. Buying a 50ft roll of Vinly you pay like around 5-10 bucks a yard depending on how heavy/thick it is. I reupholstered (man that looks like foriegn word when spelled out) cabs for many friends and built my own too. Not that hard to work with either.

So I did a gig with the new cab last night, and I think I love it even more now! It's much less cutting than the V30 cab I had before, much warmer with more pronounced mids. It's almost as if in some ways the sound before was a bit 'artificial', to my ears anyway, with that toppy spike that the V30s have. Whereas now it sounds like a proper warm valve amp should! Someone asked about the Creambacks being dark - I don't think they are dark, I think they're just warmer with less high end than some other speakers (like V30s or K100s). But if you like a punky, toppy tone with alot of cut then they probably aren't right for you. I think they've made the Herbert sound really creamy and smooth, which I love :)
