guys

im going to get an old marshall retro style awh 4x12 cab with celestion gh 30 speakers .im running the 100 watt diezel einstein so im just checking everythings ok with running both ? the einstein has the 16 ohm connection for the cabinet speakers so no worries there .the awh cab has only a mono setting but im good with that as i never use a stereo setup or an extra cab only a halfstack setup .

So, what's the question?

Just check the rating on the cab...if that's what you're asking...

I don't know what the power rating of the gh30 is, but as a general rule of thumb your cab should be around twice the rating of the amp if you intend to use the amp full blast. Certainly 50% above the amp rating.

There is no perfect answer to this question, differnt amps output different % of their rating at different stages of the volume scale, some amps will be putting out 60% of thier power at 40% of the volume control and 80-90% of their power by around 6 or 7 on the volume. Peak power can also go over the rating, so it's wise to have a margin for your speakers.

Also speakers tend to lose their sonic qualities before you do them damage, so just because you aren't breaking them doesn't mean they'll sound good.

If they are 30w rated each them be careful with them, if they are 40w or above you'll be fine. Also if you mix speakers in a 4x12 cab the rating of the cab is 4 times the LOWEST power rating.

All of the above is generalised, but I hope it helps!
