Quikrod eq test

I was messing with settings today and came across something I'd like to see if your quikrods do too. I did this pretty loud
Gain 10oclock. volume 9oclock.mids 11oclock. Presence 9oclock. No loop master.
If I turn the bass to maxed out and the treble off....as I slowly turn up treble to full the bass goes away.
it's like the treble knob was a tightness knob for the bass. The bass was super loose with treble off...which i like. I enjoy my 71 jmp and 66 fender bassman bc of this.
Seemed like the mid knob is more of a general brightness/cut knob.
Presence knob doesn't seem to do much. Between 0 and 10 there's a difference but sweeping in between is minimal.
I was getting some killer tones today and found a whole new way to dial in this amp.

What year is your QR? I have a 2007 early 4 button model.. mine is amazing but was a bit dark.. added a simple bright cap.. but will have to try this.. Its amazing how well this amp goes from mid 60's plexi to rip roaring modded 800.. do you use a boost out front?.. what kind works for you?

Mines a 2021. I play on old mode. Old setting has chewier mids and smoother highs. I keep the gain low and hit with a clean boost for higher gain. I use a boss ms3 clean boost, not sure what they modeled it after. For other songs I use an sd1. Sometimes a big muff into an sd1. It's always taken everything I throw at it.

I've been doing the Treble = 0 for a long time now. Never tried the bass thing like you are saying.

I knew about the treble zero thing. I was messing with that when I found this.
Only thing is i keep the presence low with treble zero. If i turn presence up it adds a blanket effect. I know that sounds weird but i don't hear it adding highs until it is turned way up. That goes for treble at any position too. I'm going to make a video soon of my quikrod compared to my jmp and various stuff and different settings ive found. I don't play metal or 80s. Im more into shoegaze indie. Like....At The Drive in maybe. I can't find any demos of the versatility of the quikrod. This amp cleans up by touch sensitivity better then any other amp I've owned. I modded gear 2 to sound like a beefed up gear 1. But much less gain and bass than what scott put in there.
