Hi All,

I currently using a Line6 POD XT Live through the effects loop of my Herbert and also doubles up as a channel switcher, which is pretty handy as I can switch channel and turn effects on without tap dancing on pedals. Unfortunately, the effects built into the XT Live are not that great :gethim: and was looking to upgrade to a decent rack effects unit.

I've done some digging around and see that TC Electronics and Rocktron seem to do some good effects, but I have no experiences.

What effects do you guys use on your Diezel's and do you have any recommendations?

Cheers  ,

Stu.

Hello,

I completely recommend the G System. It freaking rocks! As you'll probably hear from anyone using it (cause it's true), it takes some tweaking, MUCH tweaking, just to get it to sound great, but once it's all set its pretty much set and forget, unless you want to make new effects patches (and the major changes are global changes). When you look at quality of effects, space it uses up, and the fact it does all your Diezel channel switching for each patch as well, it just can't be beat!!!

do you do all the switching through midi then? and do you have it through the serial loop of the herbert?

Yep,

I have a MIDI switching the channels on the amp. I am actually running through the switchable loop so I can edit my patch to have the effects loop switched on or off.

zzzsleepzzz: I am definately going to check out the G-System, sounds awesome. I understand TC Electronic produce some awesome effects.

I use in the switchabel loop a 30 band EQ (its verry funny to play with complete different sounds). In the serial loop a TC g-major. From the g-major i use only the chorus on clean chanel and a reverb-preset for solo, but primary the noise gate for chanel 3, which is my main-sound for 95%. The g-major is not to expensive for the job i need from a FX and sounds verry good.

Aside from the G-System, which is really costly, check out the Rocktron Xpression.

I have a G Major (hardly use it - mostly its tuner :D ) and a IntelliPitch (as a harmonizer and some chorus for cleans) in the switchable loop.

Cool thanks for your comments!

Definately going to check out the G System and G Major...I heard good things about TC Electronic.

The G System sounds more up my street as it will be working in a similar way to my setup at the moment, just a 1000 times better! :D

Now...just have to hunt down a dealer in Essex/Hertfordshire UK  ........unless anyone here is near by and would like to Demo it to me???

Imo the G-Major taints the tone of the Herbert way too much.
