Say I had a randall rm100c and wanted all egnater modules, would the dual channels on those eggie modules work? What sort of footswitch would i need if so?

Thanks!

ps. I am assuming that randall's deluxe, sl+, and treadplate don't sound as good as egnater's t/d, sl2 and erect because in all the demos i have heard on the internet, Egnater's sound much much better.

I've used Egnater modules in Randall MTS amps over the years... when using a dual-channel module in an amp designed for single-channel modules, you can only use channel A. So in an RM100c, you'd still only need a 3-button footswitch.

BTW, I don't know if the Egnater modules universally sound "better" or they just sound "different" than the Randall modules. I prefer the Egnaters because I play lower gain stuff (southern rock, country) and I think the Egnater modules work best for me for that purpose; but I know plenty of people who swear by the Randall modules for their particular applications as well.

Why the Egnater demos sound better? Perhaps because anybody who has $3K+ to drop on an Egnater modular rig is more likely to have several thousand dollars in recording gear, while anybody ho has <$1500 to drop on Randall gear is probably less likely to make a similar investment in recording gear. Dunno for sure... just a hunch.

Yeah that's what I thought. I just wanted to make sure. I really wish egnater made a 2x12 combo with 3 modules slots like randall!

VERY good points. I HATE having to base any of my opinions on sounds clips I have heard on forums, youtube, manufactures websites. I just want to play it and decide for myself but these amps aren't sitting in my GC so how can I?

I just want the best Fender deluxe clone, Marshall dsl/tsl 2000 clone, and mesa dual recitifer clone. Those are the 3 amps that I have owned and loved in my 9 years of playing and it would be perfect to have them all again in one portable box. Should I make another topic for that question?

or, perhaps Egnater players have better taste in music, and more skills on the guitar.
