Has anyone who is using an RF4 with a VH4 had any problems getting the footswitch in sync with the head? Or did it work straight out of the box? I'm having huge problems (see VH4 switching problems topic). Was there any setup or initializing procedure to go through? There is no manual or other documents with the footswitch, should there have been?

Thanks in advance.

Mine didn't work right out of the box. I followed the programming instructions in the manual. If I remember correctly. I did this:

1. Hook up the pedal and turn amp on
2. Hold down the Mute button on amp, and press one of the RF-4's buttons
(Now the amp should recognize the footswitch)
3. Now you can program it
4. Step on RF-4 Button 1
5. Push Channel 1 on amp
6. Press Store button on amp twice
(that should save channel on button 1)
7. Repeat for other channels, i.e (hit RF-4 button 2, select amp channel 2, hit Store twice)

That should do it, let us know if it doesn't.

Hi itsme,

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately it hasn't solved the problem. The switching is still f*ucked up.

One more question- does your RF4 have latching switches?

Cheers
Adi

I don't know what those are. Mine is just a 4 button switch with numbers 1-4 on it, and a midi cable. that's it. I love it. It's rugged, and switches immediately.

Latching switches are heavy duty ones that have a resistance to being pressed and make a solid click when you step on them. Non-latching (or momentary) switches have a much lighter action as the switching is done electronically.

Oh. Yes mine are heavy duty. They click when you press them. It's just like a Mesa Recto switch.
