That was such a fun time, everyone's minds blown, wanting to learn guitar. Only certain dudes could even figure out what they were playing in those days. No tabs, no internet. Between Rhoads, EVH, and Vai, it was a field day seeing who could pull it off.
 
When that DIO S.T.A.R.S. tune was put together, George Lynch said everybody was actually "Afraid" of Yngwie. Thats FNA funny shit. We need footage of that backstge dealio. But for me, that bow-tie shit is as ghay as it gets. WTF RR ? At least the new boss, Sharon said, " Loose it" !
 
That tone and playing in 1979 when disco had just died. Dude was way ahead of his time.

I still refuse to listen any Ozzy stuff that doesn't have Randy or Jake in it.

Agree, Zakk was dialed in those first two albums. He did an amazing job and his style was fresh right after Jake. Not as technical but you can't deny his precision in the early days on those pentatonic licks. Super aggressive but also had a great sense of melody.
