Good idea keeping it Dave!!

Those old PQ-3/6's are too good to not have one around.. Even if you don't use it for everything, it is definitely cool for certain things!

Slap it infront of the Jose and boost 800-1000hz by +20dB with a narrow bandwidth. Thank me later :D

Dave! do it! I need a pedal size PQ3 or PQ4 haha

I loved my PQ3 when I had it! sounded killer!

Never got to play through one but they seem to be legendary. Wonder why they have been reissued???

I had my eye on tht auction too.

Running an EQ before the amp is THE best damn thing in the world for tone. I have no idea why more players don't do it. It's like having all the worlds pickups at your finger tips available with the turn of a knob.

You guys need to track down a TC Electronics 1140 or 1144 (same thing). I had the PQ3 and it was cool but pretty low-fi and noisy. It was a definite tone sucker in bypass mode. The TC is just so clean and musical. Seriously a huge improvement over the PQ3 IMO. Plus you can footswitch it in and out, and it has level matching for use as a boost or cut when engaged... the ultimate parametric IMHO.

Had a PQ4 that I sold last year and have been looking for a TC 1140 ever since to go with my TC 1210 and TC2290.

In all seriousness, I get more/better use out of the 1128. I know it's not technically paramteric, but it's midi, silent, transparent, and it retailed for like $2500. I got mine for $290.

Damn that sweet. that would work also. :D I like the price.

I just recently discovered all the hype about the PQ3, but I have never tried a parametric EQ in my rig. What is it about the Furman PQ3 that makes it so much better than other parametric eq's? Is it truly better than any others? Is it really worth the $300 used that they are going for lately?

I have a PQ3 and it never worked. Some asshole sold it to me not working. Can some one send me picture of the back of the PQ3 (Blackface) because I think mine is missing the on/off switch.

When you use the low in/out on the unit and use the preamp button it turns into a high gain monster. I use to use one in front of my Marshall Mark II's in the low input and run the amp clean. Think Dimebag, Stryper, Icon, etc.

The thing with the Pq3 is that some people forget is that it's a preamp and Parametric EQ all in one. It's not just a parametric nor do most guitar players use them like the normal Parametric lol
I think of them as a booster pedal with the ability for you to custom tailor your sound.

With that said, Ive been looking for a TC 1140 and those suckers are pretty tough to find!!

I have a peq 3 for sale for $200 plus shipping if anyone is interested.
