FedEx SmartPost

When it comes to low-weight shipping for residential customers, consider the efficient, economical FedEx SmartPost service. By utilizing the U.S. Postal Service® for final delivery, FedEx SmartPost reaches every U.S. address, including P.O. boxes and military APO, FPO and DPO destinations. You can even use FedEx SmartPost to ship to Alaska, Hawaii and all U.S. territories.

You cannot mix FedEx/UPS with USPS. Doesn't go well together.

Looks like your package is on a poorly routed US tour! "Ello Cleveland!"

This happens often with smartpost. It's a cheap option. Get what you pay for. I have told several sellers not to use it or ups surepost

Sweetwater user to use this. They connect with USPS, and that's where it gets dicey. I hate USPS with a fucking passion. They wonder why they're going out of business. Their service is terrible, and their attitudes are worse.

Smart Post is a cheap way for FedEx to get the USPS to deliver your package. They pay USPS a cheap rate. USPS handles these shipments as the lowest priority, so smart post will take longer that normal USPS and FedEx.

Never use smart post.

Many that offer free shipping use it.

Mailman Dan has a nasty attitude, but his service makes it all worthwhile......... :D

My problem with SmartPost is that it arrives in a timely fashion to USPS, where it usually sits for awhile, and then starts moving again a few days AFTER the transition to USPS.

I agree USPS is horrible, and anything the company I work for sends via Smartpost is just as bad. We moved to a brand new building in early February. The USPS would not allow customers to ship to our new building because the address 'did not exist'. I can understand maybe a week or so after work begins on the building, but I would think the address would be locked in once the building/lot is purchased or at the very latest construction begins. Anyway, here we are almost 3 months after the date that building opened to resume our normal business operations and I get at least 3-4 calls a day where packages are not being delivered correctly.

They are either still trying to deliver to our old address (which should be fine, those are getting forwarded to our new address, if they deliver it).

If they can't/won't deliver to the old address they are holding the package hostage and attempting to charge the customer extra fees to then send the package back to them. Which of course causes headaches for us, cause the customer thinks its our doing. Or sometimes they forward the package on their own to our new address and then try to charge us, which our warehouse has a 'accept no collect packages' policy, so when they try to deliver it and charge us for the extra delivery address, we refuse it and it gets sent back to the customer.

If they do have it being delivered to the correct/new address, their online tracking never shows it as being delivered anyway.

Just horrible service and I can completely understand why they are going bankrupt as well. It's a shame cause it was a more affordable option to Fed Ex/UPS if you needed something that wasn't shipping across the US/World, but not anymore.

My last amp I shipped went to Newyork(Where it was destined)
Then it turned around and came back to Michigan. Then was shipped back to New York.
I was cringing it being handled so much.
Yes I shipped it USPS.
They dropped the ball on it. What else is new. Run things so thin its crazy.
What was the work of 5 people is now 1 guys job.
Most of the sorting is done by machines that take a picture of the address and send it down to the conveyor belt.
we get missent letters daily.
Shit gets pushed in the corners all the time.
Sad fact. :aww:

I actually just spoke with a FedEx rep today regarding a package that is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow to my house. I told Fedex that I will be in and out running errands and if possible
just deliver to the FedEx store 2 blocks away from me. They said they can but it will have to be delivered on Monday or Tuesday in order to accommodate and coordinate my request. I'm like, it's 2 freaking blocks away what's the deal? Just radio the driver to bring it to the store. Frustrating. So much bureaucracy.

Your hands are tied by the wonderful Republican bullshit under Bush. "Hey, let's rob the post office of its profits, then we'll use that as a reason to shut down that arm of the government by showing that they are losing billions every year!"
One reason why I can't stand the right wing anymore. Used to vote Republican, now I vote for anyone who's on the ballot that's not from either party. Rant over.

You got it right. Oig did a audit. The government took billions that was in reserve from the post office. Then usps was ordered to prefund retirement for employees. Only part of the government that had to do this.
All a bunch of crap. Yet our llast post master general retired on a super healthy 6 figures.
To top heavy.

I've had 2 guitars damaged and one completely lost, (likely stolen) by FEDEX. I absolutely refuse to use them anymore. Funny thing, last week I arrived home and the wife says, "you got package deliverd, I put in in the office", FEDEX had delivered someones nice new office chair to the wrong address.  I called them and told the guy that answered, "you dumbasses delivered a package to the wrong address", the fucker hung up on me! I called back and got another rep, it took them 2 DAYS to come pick it up for the rightful owner.
