Just picked up a rebel 20 head. Sounds great so far. I was wondering what people like to use with these for adding some gain and/or some volume for solos. I'm looking to keep the overall sound of the rebel but just add gain or volume as needed. I have been thinking about an OCD, BB preamp, or a volume pedal up front for gain and a mxr microamp, mxr 10 band eq, or volume pedal in the loop for volume adjustment.

A few people have said they like a EQ in the loop. I just use a phase and wa with mine.

Fulltone Fatboost for volume and that extra push and/or eq is killer. Fulltone OCD works well also, if you want the extra gain. I use both with my Rebel 20.

I use both an OCD and Fulldrive. My Fulldrive is always set on CompCut so that its acting as a gain boost. If you normally set your amp for clean tones, the OCD will give you good distortion when you need it and you can then use the Fulldrive to kick in extra boost for the leads. Using the Fulldrive by itself will give you breakup without a bunch of distortion. If your amp is already set for moderate to high, you'll have to set the OCD to low gain so that its just acting as a boost.

All your appoaches will work. I've been wacking my Tweaker with a TS9 and a BB Pre Amp. I also like to use an EQ in the loop for volume boosts.

All the suggestions above are really good. Heck, the Bad Monkey sounds great through all of my amps.
