Rebel 20 input hissssss

My Rebel 20 has a fizzing/hissing which disappears when I wiggle the input lead - this happens with different leads so isn't a lead problem. Has anyone else had this - I play with the gain quite high.
Should I take it back to the store for a replacement or is there something I can do (the store is quite far away) ????
 
I've emailed GuitarGuitar from whence it came.....

I'm hoping they'll swap it for a new one.

I'll let you know....
 
I have found that if I turn up the amp without a lead in the input I can tap the front panel and hear it through the speakers....
A microphonic valve perhaps ? - not so simple...
I tried 4 different 12AX7s in the front position - the valve in this position made a noise when gently tapped - but it wouldn't stop!!

I'm going to take the head back for a replacement as it is only 6 weeks old.

The amp still sounds amazing but the noise in between playing is unbearable!

I'm sure this is a rare occurence and hope I haven't put anyone off buying one of these fantastic amps.

Issue resolved - got a replacement from GuitarGuitar in Edinburgh......

I still get a bit of noise at high volumes with maximum gain but that is to be expected.....

It is amazing how loud a Rebel 20 can be through a 4x12 - even set at 1W !!!!

anyway - all is well in Bonnie Scotland (despite the rain )

I play a range of music - mainly noisy,,.....

I'm currently in a Punk covers band and helping out with a HR covers band so I love the sound from the Rebel 20.
I've just bought a Blackstar Dual pedal so I can have 3 sounds instead of 1. I'm expecting it on Monday......should fulfill all of my requirements !!

My neck of the woods is always wet.
