Rebel 20 owners. Can you check something for me?

Hi guys.
I just want to know if your rebel20 also does the following?:
When setup clean (gain at 10.00, watts and master dimed), the overall volume is lower than guitar straight into the return on the back.
I have tried to insert a rack effect in the loop, to be able to "see" the levels, and with the above settings I cannot clip the input of the effect, even by diming the input knob on it.
Switch to guitar straight into the effect, I clip the input.
I have e-mailed with Nate on this one, but he says change tubes, which I did to no avail.
I have tried another Rebel, and it does the same, I just don´t understand why a send from a loop is lower than instrument level??

I usually plug my guitar into the jack in the front.

No, seriously, the signal level from the guitar is different than the signal level in the effects loop. I'm not sure how or why, but there's something about it on page 10 of the owner's manual.
