I used one of my Rebels the other day for a band practice. I set it up with an Egnater TM 212x. I was running the distortion through the Rebel 20 and my cleans through a Mesa Lonestar 212. I like the distortion sound on the Egnater much more than on the Mesa.
One thing I found very surprising is how loud this little guy is. My band is pretty loud, and I thought I'd have it turned up all the way to keep up with the band. Well, I had the Master at about 9-10 O'clock, so not even at half power and then the Gain at about 3 O'clock. The Rebel had no problems keeping up with the other guitarists JCM 2000. Granted, he sets it even lower. But still! This means that at a small to medium sized club, the amp will have no problem coping.
I'm using the Mesa for the clean headroom, as it's a 100 Watt amp. But I'm going to try and run my other Rebel next time for the cleans and see what happens. I'll keep one set for distortion and the other for cleans. I might just be able to get enough clean headroom out of it for the practices and then for shows if I mic it.
