Hi, folks !
My english is bad, but I try to explain my problem.
I have a problem with second (dirty) channel on a my rebel combo.
Second channel has a VERY quiet sound, but sometimes I hear "jump" of the volume to normal level and back. That "jumpes" are about 0.5-1 second.
All tubes in preamp are new. All tubes in power amp is OK (first channel is absoluttely OK).
Any thoughts ?

Thank you very much .

Sounds like it could be a preamp tube in the channel 2 section. Check the tubes labelled V1 and V3. Replace them with known good tubes and see if that solves the problem. If you don't have any good extra tubes, use the V2 tube as a known good tube and swap it with V1 and V3, one at a time, and see if that helps to figure it out.

Here's the tube charts:

Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

This is the exact same problem that I'm having with my Renegade head. The tubes all tested ok, but I replaced them anyway. Problem still exists.

Please let me know if you find a solution.

Tommy

So, my tubes also is absolutely new and OK. I awap it with each other many times, but no effect :(

Hopefully, both of us will find a solution soon! I've had a Rebel 20 for a few years and it's been great. Are you in the USA? The only Authorized Service dealer near me hasn't returned my phone calls or emails.

I'm outside of US. But I hope, that Bruce and guys can find here the local guys, who can help me.
I'm in Moscow, Russia

I am experiencing a similar issue with my Rebel 30 head. The volume intermittently drops and rises on ch 2. When it drops, it sounds as if a blanket has been thrown over the amp. It only happens on ch 2 with volume and gain turned up passed 2 o'clock and it only seems to be happening with the 6V6s. If I just dial in the EL84s, there are no issues.

I've tube rolled every tube in the amp several times along with resetting the bias both colder and hotter in an attempt to fix this issue. It still does it.

Ive submitted the online support form, emailed Alex and Nate and I even tried calling that emergency support number off the website. The first time I called, I was hung up on immediately. The second time I called, I actually had someone on the phone who asked for my location then put me on hold for a minute and then just hung up on me. I'm done with their support. I'll just play other amps live and keep this one in the bedroom at lower volumes. The tone is great but Egnater support really sucks.

This problem reeks of a power tube sockett pin losing contact,CRC that sucker and dry completely !
Or the mix knob pot is loosing contact on one set of tubes. DIRTY POT - ROTATE AWHILE to clean up .

I've got the same problem with my Rebel 30 -112.

Clean channel sounds great, Gain channel is thin and "tinny". Volume knob has practically no effect, though the Gain knob works fine.

What I discovered is, after I let it warm up for a half hour to an hour, if I put downward pressure on the volume knob it "kicks in" - full volume, much richer sound, and the volume knob actually does something. Usually, if I "fiddle" with it for awhile (pressing down while exercising the knob) the gain channel works great - for as long as I don't power off the amp.

If I turn it off, the next time I power up it's back to square one.

I've tried swapping all the preamp tubes around, and that has no effect - clean channel is always good, gain channel is "tinny" and low volume until it's warmed up and I do the "push down" thing on the channel 2 volume control.

I've got to believe it's an issue with the CH2 volume pot or its connection to the circuit board.

That does sound like some kind of weak connection problem.
