Hi!

At the last band rehearsal I thought that the tone of the amp gets a litte fuzzy and that the amp lost some power.

Today I played the amp again and it sounds ok and after 30 minutes it made a gentle "plop" noise and the sound was gone. I tried the EL84 position I tried the 6V6 position but no sound. And one of the 6V6 tubes doesnt glow.

So my question is.
The reason of no sound is a dead tube or another problem ? Because I already have guarantee but we play an gig in two weeks and if its only the tube, then its faster to let change the tube from an expert.
I bought the amp overseas.

Thats an image of the 6V6 tubes
6V6

Many Thanks

Hi! I think it would have been wise to check the tubes at your last rehearsal and ,probably, change the 6V6's then. Now,if you don't have any sound on the EL84's side as well as on the 6V6's,you probably have a blown fuse. So,check ALL the fuses first (i don't mean the ones inside). When you'll have located the blown-fuse,you just replace it with a good one and, then, you just have to change the power tubes also.Best of luck!

Check the "315 mA Fast-blo" fuse, I believe it is the B+ fuse and will blow if you have a bad output tube. Usually, if a fuse blows, remove all of the output tubes first, then replace the fuse and power up the amp. If the fuse holds, likely a bad output tube. The fact that one 6V6 doesn't glow, indicates that the tube is likely bad, and both 6V6 should be replaced as a pair and bias checked.
