Rebel 30 and Renegade 50 Recording Outs

Alright, so I've been reading this board for a year and now I have a question. With the Rebel 30 there is a "Speaker Emulated Line Out" and a "Silent Record" setting on the switch. With the Renegade 50 there is only the "Speaker Emulated Line Out". I want to record from the amp while the family sleeps upstairs and I really think the 6L6/EL34 combo sounds fantastic. Can I send a signal from the Renegade to my recording rig without having sound come from the speaker while still getting the Mojo from the tubes?

The Record out on the Rebel 30 and Renegade is at the speakers. Meaning this includes the power tubes. Also this means that you still have control of your Presence, Density, and Reverb in the record out. The Renegade is not silent so you would need a load box of some kind to do silent.

Very cool. Thanks all. Chickenoolie gave some loadbox examples (since deleted). Anyone using these things? Any suggestions? It would seem to me that, to just accomplish silent recording, I would go with the lowest cost alternative that would not harm my gear. Perhaps I'm sadly mistaken.

Thanks for the relist Chickenoolie.

I ended up talking to Ted Weber via email and he indicated that his MASS series attenuators would fill the bill. Specifically, the Mini Mass or Mass Lite 50W should work as long as you don't dime the amp. They go for $100-125 on his site. I would think that, if you wanted to run the amp all out, you may want to consider the 100w version.

Of course, the Rebel 30 has a Silent Record option so that is an easy alternative without using a load box.

Looking forward to trying these new amps out along with the MOD 50.

Thanks all.
