I love my Rebel 30 combo but an issue came up today.

There is a lot of static or latent static noise after a not, especially when hitting a note and then muting it with your hand....it sizzles and sounds like a bad cable for a bit. I am running a guitar straight in, no pedals, nothing in the loop. I tried several different cables and different guitars.

I read about the cold solder input problem on guy had. This doesn't seem to be my problem as it doesn't change when wiggling the cord at the input or by touching it.

I took off the back panel......whoa!! This thing is packed in there.....I decided to button it back up since I know nothing about the inside of an amp. It doesnt sound like a preamp tube...its a low static sound.

Any ideas?

Help....I really love this amp....way more than my Renegade(sold it)

I know it may not "sound" like a tube problem, but you have to rule that out first. It's also the easiest thing to rule out, so hoping you have some spares to try out first.

You are right. I just dont have any laying around. Maybe its time to try some JJ's in this thing.
Or I could pull some out of my Mesa.

tried replacing V1...no luck, V2...no luck and Phase Inverter....same problem still.

Thanks!

Hmmmm, I'd go ahead and contact Nate or John at egnateramps.com and they'll get you straight. Good luck!!

Rebel fixed. Amp tech said it had some "loose connectors and bad EL84 tubes" Sorta vague but fixed none the less.

Just figured I would post an update.
