Replaced my Rebel 30 Combo speaker and it was really a breeze.
Be sure to follow all common amplifier safety precautions.

Start by removing the amp cover housing which has 6 screws. You dont need to remove the preamp tubes or cover.
And then remove the power tube screen cover.

Next remove the 8 screws that hold the amplifier assembly in the cabinet.
The top 4 screws are deep seated and be careful not to loose the washers that come off of these.
Remove the power tubes. (just for caution)
Remove the speaker connections.

You should have a hand full of parts set aside and now your ready to remove the amp assembly.
Carefully lift the entire amp assembly out of the cabinet and set it aside.
Be careful not to touch the circuit boards or electrical components.

Install your replacement speaker of choice.
Remount your speakers and make sure you have the terminals adjusted so the speaker cable reaches them before tightening down the screw.
The red cable is +.
Assemble your Rebel 30 in reverse order and thats it!

Thanks!!! I have been thinking of doing this for the past 2 months. Looks like nothing to it.

Does this void your warranty? Maybe Ian could shed some light on that.

So, how does it sounds with a V30?

I chose the V30 because of the scooped mid sound and the fuller low end.
I personally think the Rebel 30 has great complex mid tones.
But I think the elite 80 goes overboard with the low mids. Or, it doesn't fill out with the low end properly balanced.
The Elite 80 sounds tighter and less efficient, where as the V30 sounds like it lets the amp breathe.
Bottom line is I think the V30 lifts both ends of the spectrum on the Rebel 30 amp, where as the Elite 80 is pretty flat.
