So last night I was up ( I work nights) and trying out the R30's direct out into my old Boss BR-8. One thing I did note is that I had to adjust my settings to be a little brighter than I normally would, but I'm diggin' the tones from this amp!

The clips are with my MIM Fender Fat Strat with Texas Specials and an SD Pearly Gates (with an Alnico II, not V) plugged straight in with NO boost.
For the rhythm, I double tracked them and panned the 6V6 cleans to the left and the EL84 cleans to the right.
For the lead I kept the blend knob straight up at noon, and used a Boss DD-6 delay in the loop. The DD-6 is not on at first, I kick it in and it stays on for the rest of the song. I also used the Strat's volume knob to get the varying amounts of gain.

Mistakes and all were recorded in this bring that this is just a demo clip I did in one take!

Settings:
Clean - Treble=2, Bass=noon, Volume=11. Bright and tight switches off.
Lead - Volume=10:30, Treble=3, Mids=10, Bass=1, Gain=3. Bright switch on, tight switch off.

Reverb is from the amp, no outboard EQ or compression added, just the compression from the mp3 conversion.

First, the rhythm only clip:

Constructive criticism is welcome.

Sounds great! The direct record is really the coolest thing out!

sounds VERY good for an amps direct out. WOW

I really can't wait for the rebel 30 head!! I am not a combo guy. Please hurry.

The direct out IS really that great! Thank heavens for that, because I'm a novice at micing!

I guess I'm a bit lazy, but I actually love the combo - an all in one sort of deal. I dunno, though, the head would be friggin' cool as hell though. A few months back I played the R20 in a GC and mine and wife's eyes about popped out of our heads in disbelief! We could not belief the huge sound that was coming out of that head and 1x12 cab! Same exact reaction with my R30 combo. I do have to say, the way it's designed looks like the Egnater team took great care to protect those tubes as best as possible, better than many other combos, IMHO.

Jeff

timeline for the head? I don't care for a single combo speaker, and have a custom 2x12 that I would much rather take advantage of. I don't need the power of the renegade, and am really attracted to the rebel 30 concept (but want 2 channels instead of the single rebel 20). when could we expect to see this option?
