I use my Rebel 30 with a t.c. electronics G-Major 2 in the effects loop. When I mute the G-Major 2 I still get sound thru the effects loop which makes silent tuning impossible. Is there some way of fixing this. It does not do this on my Mesa Express or my Tweaker 40?

Cheers,

Nick.

Couple questions:

1)When you mute it, are you getting a little sound bleeding through, or is it still full volume with no change?
2)Is the reverb on when you are doing this?

Feel free to just pm me if you want. I'll likely see that faster than I will see this thread.

I get similar but mine's a faded leaking of the R30 reverb thru my turbo tuner ST-200 when muted.
When I turn the reverb off it's full mute.
I've got the ST-200 in the loop too
Only happens on my R30 Head - have got full mute thru my Mesa and Roland
It sounds like the wet signal only - kinda transparent & soft.
It's there but doesn't really bother me.
An explanation would be nice though - thanks :D

Interesting, I've noticed this too with my Renegade. I just recently started using a Line 6 M9 in the loop and I get the same thing, used to just have a boss tuner in front so never had the problem. It's very faint and does sound very wet with verb. Next time I'll try switching the reverb off and see if it fully mutes.

My Rebel 30 head issue is still not resolved. I have a bleeding effects loop so I cant mute the amp for tuning. Works fine with my MESA and Blackstar effects loops. Need an answer if this amp is ever going to be used live.

My reverb board remains disconnected as it causes noise problems when hot (Splish, pop, bang etc.)

I have asked where I can get a replacement board from with no success.

I love the sound of this amp but the above frailties prevent it being seen on stage.

Please help me someone.

Well how about an answer please to my request for an explanation of why this occurs :D

I pm'd Ian with the answers as requested but for absolute clarity:-

1)When you mute it, are you getting a little sound bleeding through, or is it still full volume with no change? A little sound but enough to make silent tuning impossible.
2)Is the reverb on when you are doing this? Does not make any difference if the reverb is on or off

Gentlemen, did we manage to get an answer as to why this occurs?? I remember getting the same thing with my Boss floor tuner the first time i used my rebel 30. I had the tuner in front of the rest of my pedals going into the effects loop. I just assumed it was not meant to be and started using the tuner in the input line from the guitar which mean 2 extra leads and used the rest of the pedals through the effect loop.

I get the feeling nobody looks at the problems raised in these forums anymore. I have two longstanding issues, one related the the Rebel 30 effects loop leaking, and another relating to where I can get a replacement Rebel 30 reverb board from here in Oz. Seriously ready to throw in the towel with this amp. I have emailed Egnater direct and recieved no response.

This amp sound killer but it's unusable in it's current state. I guess I bought a lemon unless help is at hand.........

B_G. I am sorry this never got resolved. Truth is, I forgot about it and I do apologize. I will check with Nate about the reverb board. Who/where have you attempted to get a reverb board from? I will check the loop issue myself next week when I return from traveling. Please email me at begnater@aol.com so we can be in direct communication.
Thanks

Have you contacted our distributor in Australia? They may be the quickest help for the reverb board. I will still check the bleed issue for you later next week.

looking forward for an update on the FX loop leak issue. I've noticed the same "bleed" on my Renegade 65 head.

hmmm 6 months later and still waiting for an answer to this simple question

There are two separate things going on. The reverb bleed would be a normal occurrence. The wet reverb circuit is in parallel with the loop and gets mixed in after the return. There is no "fix" per-SE because it really isn't a defect, it's just the way we designed it to allow the most direct signal path. You can simply turn the reverb off on the pedal when muting the loop.
Busta...please email me directly at begnater@aol.com. I have a few more questions.

I run my Renegade with a TC G-System, you can minimize the leek through the FX loop by keeping your channel volume low, 9/10 o'clock and using more master volume. The reverb is trying to be a old spring reverb sound and I think it does it very well but the more pre amp signal you push through it the more out of control it will get. Playing a good valve amp is a balancing act, all the knobs act like volumes and not wanting to sound like a twat.....if something sounds bad then you need to turn something down. Your master volume should always be higher than your channel volume. NEVER trust the settings in manuals they always seem to be made up by someone who doesn't play guitar lol.
