Has anyone heard whether there will be a way to modify a current Rebel 30 head to make it similar to the HG series that will be released later this year? I would hate to have to buy a another Rebel 30 head & lose $$ on a trade-in.

I guess no one's heard anything about this :(

hehehe no of course no-one has hehe
you might consider whether your Q makes any sense.
You're asking if there's a mod to a great amp to make it sound like another amp that hasn't even been released yet
Plus I'm not aware of any mods to any Egnater amps.
And if there were any why would the objective be to make it sound like another Egnater amp ???

So hehehe - just buy the bloody amp or................
wait for the HG whatever - who knows what that'll sound like

that question was posted already, Bruce said they won't mod older r30's- the mod could be done by a tech, but would void the warranty if I remember correctly

Take your rebel and put a boost tube screamer in front that'll probably be similar Bruce said no change to tone more dirt and sustain thats all

What an insightful answer. So... you've never heard of someone wanting to modify an amp for more gain? The objective would be to not have to spend another $750, jackass.

I think we all understand the objective, but Bruce's objective is to make another $750 so why would he tell people how to mod to a new product that hasn't even been released?

Adding more gain (or more crunch) is fairly straightforward in any existing amp. If you dont want to buy a new amp, Take it to a qualified tech, tell him what you want, he'll change a couple components, and you'll have what you want. Either that, or be happy with what you have because it rocks.

hehe no mine was an obvious answer to a very dumb question hehe.
Penny still hasn't dropped huh :)

I'll try again -
If an amp hasn't been released yet how can anyone else mod an existing amp to make it sound like something no-one has heard

And why would anyone bother even if they had heard the "other" amp anyway.
Of course there's many amp mod's around but none of em are to make amp X sound like amp Y.
The existing amp mods are to improve or change the amp in various ways - increase gain or overcome flaws etc
If all you wanna do is increase gain easiest thing to do is just stick in higher gain tubes.
Its not a mod - it's just a tube swap and I've already done it :gethim:

The guys question wasn't stupid at all- Many people might be thinking that. And even if it was, what the the hell do you care?

And what's it got to do with you Len ?? -
I answered his question nicely to begin with & then he called me a Jackass.
YOU would not have been nearly as diplomatic in reply hehehe
