Hey Bruce. I love the tone of my Rebel. Brilliant design. I am having some noise issues on my Rebel head after only 30 minutes after purchase. I searched online and found an identical post. What was the resolution? Like I said, I love the tones, but the noise is outrageous. Tubes? I bought it tonight at a local Guitar Center, so should I just swap it out for another or is there a known issue? I am primarily using it for recording so I'm really hoping that this issue has a solution because if the noise goes away, this will be the finest sounding amp I have ever owned. I am 45 years old, have done many and big things in the industry, and have owned many high end amps, so that praise really means something. Once again, brilliant amp! Thanks.

I just purchased and received a brand new Egnater Rebel 30 1x12 combo. I plugged it in and thought everything was wonderful until about 20 minutes into playing when it started making a strange electrical noise. The best I can describe it is a repeating "tick, tick, splash!" sound or a "drip, drip, sizzle!" sound. I unplugged the guitar and the noise continues. I tried different outlets and it continues. The noise occurs regardless of the channel or any settings. It is very audible and unacceptable. I am dissapointed because I waited for this amp which was backordered since May and for 20 minutes I was really digging the tones. The odd repeating noise started up again after letting it rest overnight and simply turning it on without any guitar plugged in. Does anyone have any idea what this problem is and how or if it can be fixed? Thank you for all responses!

Me again. I just opened up the back and noticed that one of the Ruby 6v6's wasn't lit. So I powered it off, let the tubes cool, and took a look. The dull tube was completely broken! The glass lifted right off. How do I go about acquiring a new one? I suppose that I should just exchange it at GC. If you have any other thoughts, let me know. Thanks.

Rich

I think you should be able to do it at GC. But you can also contact Nate or John at Egnateramps.com and they will get you new tubes.

I believe they have a 90 day warranty.

Tubes are always the first place to look for any noise problem. In all honesty, if you have only had it a few days, you might just want to go back to GC and exchange the whole amp for a new one. Might be the fastest thing to do.

I just loaded my Rebel 30 Combo with new tubes a couple months ago.
Just the other day it started popping and cutting out like crazy.
It took me a while to isolate the problem, checking everything else on the amp, pedals, and cables first, because I figured the tubes were to "fresh" and could not already be going bad.
Damn sure enough.... my 3 month old EL84 power tubes were causing the noise.
In the trash they go..... Pissed me off big time. :powpow:

Yep, new production tubes are hit and miss. Now you know why Bruce gets so frustrated........."I bought a new Egnater amp and it's broken".............!!! 95% prob tubes.

I've had power tubes go in a matter of minutes. Pre's go microphonic right away. Very frustrating indeed.

Even new tubes can be problematic. Like the girlfriends you liked the best- Helluva good time, but they fight with you!

;) :D
