Just received confirmation from Moog Audio that my Rebel 30 Head has been shipped! i have a Marshall 1936 2x12, Orange 1x12, Epiphone 1x12 and a Blackheart 1x12 cabinet to run it through. (We have a gig lined up for the 28th of November and plan to test it live then!)

My question is would you (if you were me, and with what I already have at my disposal) buy the Egnater 1 x12 or 2x12 cabinet to go with the head? Why or why not? Problem is I live in Newfoundland and cannot test the Egnater cabinet, we have no dealers here - heck, I bought the head based on reviews and comments in forums such as this one!

Thanks in advance to any feedback I receive!

Granted I haven't looked very hard, but I haven't found a cabinet that suits my Rebel 30 head yet. My '73 Marshall 4x12 is too tight and big sounding. I personally thought the Egnater TM212x cab had a great mid & top end, but it was physically too big and therefore had a flubby low end IMO. The Marshall 1936 cabinet is also an oversized 2x12, so it might suffer from the same thing, depending on the cones of course. I believe a standard size 2x12, like the Marshall 1922, would be the perfect size.

I love my TM212 so far, but have only had it for a short time. I notice no flubby bottom, but I haven't played it out at all either (plus I play a Mod 50 and not a Rebel). I love the open back feature as well. It is a big cab, but sounds huge!

Thanks I may just get the 1x12 cabinet later and utilize the Marshall 2x12 in live situations. I use a Tiny Terror at practice with a Yamaha 4x12 cabinet and have the 1x12 Orange cabinet for home use. I'm thinking I'll do the same with the Egnater.

In the mean time keep the opinions coming on the Egnater 1x12 and 2x12 cabinets!

I've got a Rebel 30 1-12 combo. I've never tried the Egnater 1-12 cabinet, although I would expect it to sound pretty close to my 1-12 combo since it's the same size and same speaker. The main difference is the combo has a chassis taking up part of the volume. The combo sounds very good, however when I connect the amp it to my Avitar 2-12 box loaded with a Vintage 30 & G12H30, it really comes alive. I get a lot more bottom end and 3-dimensional sound with the Avitar. Of course it has two 12's rather than one, plus I think the open back helps to make it sound bigger.
