Courious what you guys are setting your tube blend at. Most of the time I keep mine set approx 10 o'clock favoring the EL84 side. However at times I will also set it to 4 o'clock favoring the 6V6's.

When I need full 30w gigging I set it in mid position.
Max headroom & sounds great.
Home use or band practice I set full either side -20w is easier to get lower volume.
Slightly prefer the 6V6 side tones myself :D

I use the one on my Renegade more like a tone control to shape my tone. What do my ears say? What kind of overdrive am I going for? That's pretty much it.

Used it just yesterday to dial out some harshness of in my overdrive tone. In that case, I moved it all the way to the el34 side.

fwiw

Mine's always set in the middle for maximum volume. But also, I like the sound that way. Sometimes when recording, I've pulled it over to the 6V6 side because the other guitarist has an EL84 based amp.

I really like the sound at 50/50.
For different stuff I like to use 100% on each side.
Clean, blues, dirtier blues I like the EL84's.
For more drive with a pedal playing hard rock and metal sounds the 6V6's "tighten" up the tone and response. Seems to have a quicker attack with a bit more control over the speaker in terms of damping, which is great for chunka chunka chords and riffs. :)

On my Rebel 30 if I turn to 100% EL84 the volume drops only slightly from middle position.
But, if I go 100% 6V6 the volume is noticeably quieter from the middle setting and from all EL84 setting.
Generally 6V6's are lower power output compared to EL84's, so that might the reason.
But, I'm hoping it's not a cold bias on the 6V6 side.
I've never done biasing so I may have to have a tech check it out.

BTW, so far everything works on my Rebel 30. I can hear the change in tone and a bit in volume when going from 1 watt to 30 watts.
Some say they hear no difference. Don't know why. I can easily hear the difference at I'm not playing anywhere near loud either.

For me it depends on the guitar. With my Strat Plus I push the EL84s, between 9 and 10 o'clock. Sometimes I go 50/50 if I really want to cut through or gain some headroom, but otherwise I use the EL84s to darken it up.

With my SG Special I max the EL84s. It gets too thin when I blend in the 6V6s.

With my AF95 hollow body I have to push the 6V6s, about 3 o'clock, or it gets muddy.

With all three I play through the clean channel almost exclusively. I don't really like the gain channel, but I didn't buy it for that anyway.
