Rebel tones from a Tourmaster?

Got the Tourmaster 4212 combo- Great amp!

It does cleans really well, and distortions really well. It seems to have a bit more trouble on an in-between, that I think the Rebel does really well.

I'm thinking "crackle" and "snap" with some "kerrraaang" thrown in, clean with a bit of dirt.

Got the ES-335 and the Strat.

*Please tell my wife I must have a Custom Shop Tele to get this done, and thereby give her some peace!*

Thanks!

I totally think a Tele is what you need :) Everyone should have a Tele!!! I'm surprised that Ch2 doesn't give you what you need. I'd recommend getting a BB preamp and pushing either ChA or ChB, and that'll get you where you need :)

That Warmoth Tele of yours is getting my attention!

Can't buy any new equipment now- getting into telescopes now (an old childhood interest, and another story altogether!)- so can't buy any equipment.

I do already have a nice tube recoding preamp- DBX 386. Would that do the trick? If so, would I put it in the effects loop, or between guitar and amp?

Nah..that won't do anything for you.

Let's say I'm using the 335 for a Gretsch-ier kind of tone.

I'm gonna play around, but any suggestions for settings on channel 2? What is channel 2 based on anyway, a Bassman I think?

Thanks!

When did you get your tourmaster? There was a mod to the OD circuit to tighten it up a bit and add some gain. I was told the amps that have a handwritten 'M' on the serial number were built with the mod.

I'd try getting the mod first if you don't already have it. I'm planning to do this on my own Tourmaster combo.

Bought it in November. Pretty sure mine has a M on the serial number, but not handwritten. Not at home to check it right now. I have been able to tweak the tones a bit.

Open to any suggestions, though. I am kind of curious what settings people use.
