I am thinking about getting a torpedo live, mainly to play at home and record and I was wondering about the live's balanced analog output... that is a TRS type jack, right? (quarter inch "stereo")
So if I want to hook that up to my apogee duet2, I would use a TRS-to-XLR cable to get the processed signal over a balanced connection, correct?

if you're using the breakout cable, either TRS to XLR male or a regular 1/4 to 1/4 will be fine, the external breakout box has XLR input only, hence trs to Xlr(m).

in all cases, make sure the input is set to line level and Do Not !!! engage the phantom power. Using a 1/4 ts jack may be a safer way to go and with short cable runs would not change the recorded result.

Thanks sysexguy! Yea, I will be sure NOT to engage phantom-power :D The cable is going to be about 3m, I just thought I should rather take a balanced connection because it offers much better shielding since the cable will run close to my imac, the monitors and their hook-up, right?

Oh and concerning the duet2's input, I would set that to +4dBu aka "pro gear line level" because the live's specs sport between 10 and 16 dBu - sounds like a good plan?

I am pretty stoked about the tntl!

Well, that setup works fantastic and I LOOOVE the live but I got to play a little more with the levels and settings, at +4dBu it is coming in surprisingly low, like a lot more quiet than I had expected.

The output volume on the Live is 16 dBU so you shouldn't have a low level.

Are you sure the input gain and output volume are set properly? Did you see you have a preset volume as well (-12 to +12dB) ?

Love the song but where's the singer and the backing vocals?
